Wizards #1 Draft Pick - 2009
The Wizards have to get Blake Griffin. I watched a TON of college games. He is the only one that has the body, footwork, skills, and stamina to get through a pro-game. I hope the Wizards get the number 1 pick, but if they don't, they should package their draft pick (say #2 or 3 pick) with Antawn Jamison. Griffin is a difference maker. The only way we can improve this team is get a bad-ass on the floor.
Let me know what you all think

Jamison likely has to be included to get a difference maker because the salaries will have to match.
If its the #2 pick then you’re auctioning off Rubio to the highest bidder. If its #3 then you’re probably doing the same for a team that wants Thabeet (Toronto/OKC). After that the picks fall off of a ledge in terms of value.
Its the NBA Draft
After the two headliners come off the board its anyone’s guess. I’m guessing that height and shot-blocking win out over the mediocre crowd. If Ernie is sitting at 3 then its his job to generate interest in the pick. Do what you have to do to let people know that is where Thabeet (or insert hottest riser) is going either to the Wiz or in a trade. If you want him you have to deal with Ernie.
I was trying to be rude
I just don’t think it’ll happen. And yes, I do realize that it is, in fact, the NBA Draft.
Who else is really better than him?
I mean, historically speaking, Thabeet isn’t worth of a top 3 pick, but I can’t think of anyone who’s much better not named Rubio or Griffin. Harden hurt his draft stock in the tourney, Brandon Jennings hurt his stock in Europe, and Demar Derozan is still too raw. I actually think that Thabeet has as better than 50/50 shot at being the number three pick.

We have two mid-level expiring 2010 contracts in Mike James and Etan
Plus another young guy or two … no need to include Jamison unless you have to.
I’d argue that Etan and MJ have more value to teams trying to shed salary.
You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.
True
In my scenario for Amare I thought that Phoenix might want Jamison’s 3 point shooting and rebounding to help make room for Shaq. I also think extending Haywood is important enough that Ernie should be sure he has the room. Plus if he doesn’t throw both expiring contracts into one deal we get to split them up (i think that is more likely) and use Blatche to sweeten the pot for a veteran interior presence (Camby/Collison).
I don't think a move for Amare makes much sense, actualy
I’m with you; split them up.
I also figure (hope) they’ll re-sign Haywood no matter their cap situation.

Well
If we’re going offense and trying to ride that deep into the playoffs than a guy like Stoudamire would certainly help. The knucklehead factor would have to be completely ignored but the guy brings big numbers and pretty efficient numbers at that. Bosh is the other guy that jumps to mind and is probably a better fit.
