Well That Was Fitting
Blow a 13 point lead with 6:30 left in the game? Check.
Allow three Raptors to let 3 players get double-digit rebounds? Check.
Turn the ball over for the second game in a row in the final minute of the game because you couldn't break the press? Check.
Leave the Raptors best player wiiiiiiide open for a three to take the lead with less than 10 seconds to go? Check.
Draw up an iso play for Caron Butler to give him a chance to win, only to clog the play up so Caron had no room to create a good shot? Check.
Leave the fans with a sour taste in their mouth in the final home game of a season that's provided a lot of sour tastes? Check.

Gotta wear my poker player hat for a second...
That thrown-away pass by Dixon was ideal in my book. The team is tied with the Clippers in the win/loss column. And sure, it’s just a few ping pong bolls and we always want a win and everything. But sometimes you’re best off folding the hand, and at all times you’re trying to maximize your long-term chances at winning.
The 5th pick (if we miss the lotto) has more value than the 6th. And a few more ping pong balls are a few more shots at a franchise-changer. I’ll take those over a bare win against a bad team at the end of a terrible season any day.
Agreed
It hurt like hell tonight, but we won’t remember this game two months from now when we find out where we’re drafting.

Here, here!
Totally agree; plus, if we don’t get the top pick, odds are we shop it to get a solid veteran. Gotta say, I can’t believe how much there is to feel good about coming off of such a dreadful year, but a full season of Arenas and Haywood along with a new coach and whatever happens with the draft has got me pretty pumped.
Gotta agree here
To be honest, I was laughing all throughout the end of that game. It really didn’t matter to me who won.
You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.
This is exactly what I like to hear, fellas
This is what I’ve been saying!
This win would have meant NOTHING. However, this loss means quite a bit: increase our chances by 5%, assuming the Clips beat OKC.
I’ll take that over a meaningless win, ANY DAY.
I love my Bullets, and I’m siked for next season.
Say your prayers every night until we get Blake Griffin.
Have to hand it to Bosh though
Not many bigs can nail the open three like that. He and KG are in a league of their own of the active players pool.
I loved Juan as a Terps fan...
…but he just isn’t very good as an NBA player. He’s too small and ill-equipped to be a shooting guard, and he just doesn’t have the skills, or even poise to be a point guard.
It’s time to let him go.
I’d rather keep Pech. That’s right, you heard me.
Hopefully neither Dixon nor Pech would see any real PT next year. I suppose in some way Pech has more upside, but Dixon would be more valuable if needed. I think it’s a wash. Hopefully both of those roster spots will be occupied by more useful players.
Pech's option already got picked up, I believe
You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.
I hope he gets traded or dumped
I hated that we picked up his option. Needless spending.
You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.
over 4 mil for Pech?
Say it ain’t so!
Getting buckets since 2003.

not exactly
You can’t just double count HIS salary if we’re over. Everyone’s salary is included in that number.
Not really
I’m saying that picking up the option was a mistake. That mistake cost us 2 × 2.38mil.
I don’t really care about that money except that it may force us to cutback elsewhere.
Single
I agree it was a mistake, a mistake like never getting him minutes even in the D-League. not even to showcase him for a trade. His
You’re singling out his 2Mil as the 2Mil that put us over the tax threshold but that’s not how it works. We aren’t paying double for ‘him’ we’re paying dollar for dollar over the limit. That includes overpaying Stevenson, Songalia, Jamison, and Arenas. You’re assigning the overflow to one person and making it seem like he is costing us 4M. That’s inaccurate.
I understand
I am aware that all salaries count for the lux tax threshold.
BUT
The fact is if we had not picked up the Pech option, Abe would have 4.76 million dollars that he now will not have.
I single Pech’s contract out because I think the other decisions that may throw us over the tax were not “needless” (as Prada said). I consider the Pech option to be “needless”.

I did too as well as Blake
I wouldn’t throw Dixon under the bus just yet, lol. He is still a sharp shooter behind the 3pt line and did he really have a chance with Tapscott leading the way? If he gets shipped off in some deal for better players that’s fine but I think if he’s still here under a new coach and system he’ll benefit some from it and might prove to be a better reserve than he was this past season. It’s just funny to me how Blake turned out to be the better guard than Dixon and he’s thriving from starter minutes with the Blazers. Their not that different in size but Blake seems like he was the smarter and more talented guard.

Juan Gone...
I love the guy (am the only person in Warsaw with a “Dixon 3” Wizards cap…) but, yep, Steve Blake turned out to be the best NBA player of the Terps championship team.
I am pulling Juan to come to Europe as I believe he could be a major factor for a Champions League team here if he chooses to (Terrell McIntyre, a Dixon contemporary from Clemson, is one of the most valuable American players in Europe and I suspect Juan would do as well).
And, yes, it was painful to see how the Wizards lost that one but a few more cracks at the #1 pick and the likelihood of a #5 rather than a #6 trading chip was probably worth the short-term pain.
You are in Poland?
That is awesome. Bless you for being there and here at once!
I think the tragedy of that Terps team was Wilcox. I think his career could have gone differently if he’d stayed another year.
