This probably goes without saying
Please, regardless of how you feel about Mike James, don’t celebrate the fact that a man broke his finger in three places. Let’s hope he gets better soon.
In other news, how weird is it to see the Wizards Insider page without Ivan Carter’s face?

Oops
I can see how my editorial could be taken the wrong way. I’d rather have him in uniform, but not as the first option. Not this season.

Don't sweat it
That wasn’t aimed at you. Just a pre-emptive strike to anyone who was planning on celebrating here.

Put another way
It’s the fault of the organization that we’re even in a position where having Mike James break his finger in three places can be interpreted as good news.
You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.

Agreed completely
I hate him as a starting point guard, and his shot selection isn’t always the best, but he’s not a cancer. He’s always been professional with us, and whether we trade him or not, I hope he recovers completely.

Straight Shooter
James might short his threes too often for my liking to be a starter (and after the fact of an Arenas double-double, I am bias here), but his talk is always straight and to the point. When his NBA career is done I hope he gets into journalism or sportscasting because it would be refreshing to have him there.
I mean, who didn’t love him trying to get back to the game when interviewed during the action tonight?

Well it's a classless thing to say, but I will say it

By the way, what happens with our guard rotation for the rest of the season, assuming Juan Dixon and Caron remain day-to-day?
It seems like our only backcourt players at this point are Nick Young and Javaris, with Dominic sort of able to slide to the 2. We’ll we finally see Blatche play guard?

The good news out of this is
He did what he was asked to do. Said and did all the right things. Was pleasant, and informative on all the interviews I saw with him. Didn’t shoot horribly (38% from the field, almost 38% from 3, and 82% from the Line)… and ran the Offense. Nobody ever questioned his work ethic. In general, he handled his business here in a professional and courteous manner.
In other words, he didn’t do anything to degrade his trade value – and helped the team get thorugh a terrible year.

My sentiments exactly...
There was no way that AD could have played the kind of minutes that Mike has played this season. The man came in, did the best he could under lousy circumstances, did not grouse or compain, and even helped his team win a couple of games. Get better, Mike, and meantime enjoy your summer.

fair points BUT
shooting 38% is close to shooting horribly.
i will not celebrate an injury, ever (even you, lebron) – but i will say that i will find this team more intersting to watch now, with or without arenas

Get well soon, Mike.
James has seemed to play hard and has refrained from criticizing anyone amidst all the losing, which has been nice.
Keep in mind, though, that he’s started 50 of 53 games, played 30 minutes a night and been given free rein on the court. The cynical side of me wonders if he’s happy with his role. What other NBA team would start him or play him the minutes he’s had this year? After all, being a veteran and playing for Tapscott means never having to say you’re sorry.
I hope we don’t see a different side of him next year. Remember how Byron Scott celebrated the James-Daniels trade? How will Mike react if a new coach wants him to cut down on his shooting or back up Crittenton?

How did I not know about this!?
That site is fantastic! And I respect anyone who like UGK, even if it’s just their beat.

From the site: “The unshakable, three-point threat and power guard for the Houston Rockets, Mike James is the epitome of strength and persistence. Often underestimated, Mike has emerged as the triumphant underdog. On and off the court, his fearless manner and unrelenting will to succeed are evident and unrivaled. Astounding fans and foes everywhere, Mike is a self-made phenomenon. An amazing athlete who has dedicated his life to the game of basketball, Mike James is a dangerous competitor and exemplary teammate. Strong work ethic, unwavering resolve, and consistent execution characterize his game. Impressive power, dexterity, and untouchable techniques represent his signature style. The first undrafted player in NBA history to average at least 20 points a game in a season, Mike James has proven himself as an intense and potent player. His drive and passion unparalleled, Mike James is one of the most compelling and highest ranked players in the NBA today.”
Wow, just wow. I personally think NBA players should never make their own sites, especially role players.

10 day
Shouldn’t the Wizards sign someone from the D-League for the rest of the season now? It should only cost about $18.
