You do see the similarities in body type
between a 18 year old Dwight Howard and the 20 year old JaVale McGee…right?
Well – with weight training, there’s no reason McGee can’t gain muscle, mass and strength too……

Laziness and body type
He doesn’t seem to have the work ethic it takes to put on that kind of weight, plus he’s just a more naturally skinny guy. Javale’s still pretty thin himself, but he seems like he’s naturally a bit bulkier. Whereas Javale could get the Dwight/Bynum-type of body with some weight training (I think that if he really dedicated himself to eating and lifting, he could even do it in a year or less, building hurtin’ bombs isn’t that incredibly difficult if people work hard), Blatche’s should, at best, look like Jermaine O’Neal.

He just has not put in the effort...
He’s definitely bigger than when he was drafted out of High School…
But, after 4 years, you would expect him to be much bigger if he were working hard in the weight room….

He looks flat out anorexic here
He’s still not exactly strong, but I think he’s gotten a bit better this year. He doesn’t have guns or anything, but he seems a lot sturdier and more solid.

There are at least 20+ 6’11/7 foot basketball players in the league and there is only one dwight howard. I would probably say Bynum has a similar frame but past them the risk vs reward doesn’t seem worth it. eg. Ilgauskas, JO’Neal

He certainly has filled out some since then….

as the type that will do the hard work. I love imagining the possibilites with JaVale McGee.
