Excellent Night at the Verizon Center
[Ed. Note: Promoted from the FanPosts. -Jake]
I've attended the last three home games, and let me tell you, there's never been a better time to catch a game in person than right now:
- No waiting! Lines at the concession stands are as super short. Even at half time, there's no waiting to get that hot dog and beer. You won't miss a minute of the action!
- It's peaceful! The crowds are so thin and so quiet, there's no chance you miss that important phone call from you boss. Or mother. It's like being in your own living room!
- Get to meet fans from other teams! If you, like me, have never met and talked to an actual Grizzlies fan, you can get to know them, and learn about Marko Jaric's game than you've ever known or wanted to!
- Stretch out space! If needed, the seat in front, behind, and either side of you can be empty! Even on a weekend!
- No "dagger"! 'Nuff said.
So, Wiz fans, get thee to the phone booth, while tickets last!

Yo
You may want to learn to recognize irony in writing. Sarcasm is one form of irony you may already be familiar with, but since it is used so often it is a lot more easily recognizable. In RamVA’s post, I believe he was using satire. English majors, please correct me if I’m wrong.
Think Stephen Colbert from the Colbert Report on Comedy Central.

I have to admit
I didn’t even bother to continue reading after the first line. I figured he was dead serious. Thanks for the info on satire though!!!!

Ahhhh - peace and quiet
Everyone needs some of that….
Bullets Forever - where "Dagger ! " happens......
I second that
I couldn’t believe how many Nets fans were at the game last night. Really…there are Nets fans out there?!?!?
Losing with consistency and continuity.
Plus....you can hear the players say things....(at least against New Jers)
Like when Nick Young turned the ball over and said “F*CK!” — I heard it all the way up in the Club Level (yea, fancy aren’t I? scored some free tix — thanks KJ!)

Great for catching up -
on reading, work, etc. Especially since there have been some games I’ve been too with no half time entertainment. I’ve been taking a book or work – when there is a timeout, free throws, half time – I sit there reading or doing work. I usually have the whole row to myself so I just spread myself out. It’s great for catching up. I could also take a nap – I would miss nothing.
My son pointed out the no halftime entertainment thing to me also at the Suns game...
But at the two wins we had the fast change artists for the Knicks (my Polish wife loved them) and the kid drum corps with the Richard Dreyfuss-like leader at the Clips game actually got a standing O.
Years ago when I was PR director at UT Chattanooga, I recruited halftime acts that cost nothing but were lots of fun (a ten year old dribbling prodigy etc etc), There must be LOTS of talent in the DC area dying for a chance to perform, which suggests that the Wizards marketing department is lacking in imagination as well as budget.
As a season ticket holder
I welcome the trend of no halftime entertainment (Quick Change excepted). Now if they can get rid of all of the Papa John’s 3 pt. shot, Stub Hub Fan of the Game, etc during the time outs.
Yeah, I’m old.
Against the Nets
They had Ms. Teen (I think it was teen) DC come out an do a solo Latino dance.
The act struck me as odd, but I paid attention nonetheless…..I suppose that makes me a borderline perv……

Borderline?

I love the kids drum corps -
they come every year. Very entertaining. Sad I missed them. I like quick change too but haven’t seen them in a while.
