Around SBN: Clippers Need To Realize That Spurs Are The Anti-Grizzlies

Wizards lose ... again

One team played defense down the stretch, relying on sound man principles and getting the job done.  The other resorted to a gimmick zone and couldn't stop anyone.

That's the bottom line.

Any changes to the roster would be nice.

Amazingly,

this team has somehow found a way to be less entertaining than LAST year’s team.

When your zone defense can't stop penetration

(which is what the zone is supposed to do) something’s terribly wrong.

No adjustments

How bad to we have to get before we get better
P.S. In the last 5secs of the SC can we start to look outside
for 3pt opps, Driving into traffic with Gil and Earl is just clueless.

Today was groundhog day

We lost the game again partly due to some questionable coaching decisions:

- Haywood and Arenas playing most of the 3rd and sitting for too long in the 4th.

- Going into a zone and not stopping the other team with it.

- Insistence on playing Boykins even when he’s struggling.

Can we please just blow this thing up?

disgrace

I think Id pay 5000 dollars to end this season right now. Instead we insisted on paying Arenas an extra 1,000,000 dollars even though he has no heart and no good knees. Andrey Blatche, 7 day Dre, has never lifted a weight in his entire life, plays the worst d ive ever seen in the nba, and has not made one strong move to the basket in his entire career. Can he be traded for a box of peanuts, Ill even take unsalted at this point.

refreshing

to hear someone call out dray on this site.

by DarrellWalkerFan on Dec 30, 2009 12:54 AM EST up reply actions

Why?

I think he’s one of the few bright spots. I think his D has been quite good this year. His hustle has been good as well as consistent. He has cut the mental mistakes way way down. He’s not going to ever be a huge power move player. That’s just not who he is. He’s a finesse player and I think he’s becoming very good at it. And to my eyes watching him on TV he looks pretty thick and filled out compared to the past.

concur

dray could EASILY stand to put on 10- 15 lbs of muscle. the worst part is that though skinny he doesn’t look like his body fat is all that low. the thing he needs to realize is that his body is his meal ticket… he needs to make the most of it in these younger yrs where its easier to put on and retain muscle.

ceiling

So frustrating because for brief moments he shows a move or two that makes you think he could bring the best of Lamar Odom and KG (at least on offense) altogether. Solid jumper, ability to get to the basket, its all there. Then on the next possesion he loses the ball on a flailing attempt at a reverse layup or is called for a charge trying to go coast to coast, gets that face of confusion mixed with scowling and I start thinking about Kwame Brown.

'cause most everyone that posts on this site

is real high on blatche and seems to want dray to start, despite the fact that he’d foul out every other game and is really nothing more than a soft 7 foot jump shooter who is also a turnover machine. but you never hear that perspective here.

that’s a little harsh and he’s decent, yeah, but people overlook a lot of little things if they are real high on blatche. i can’t point to a single thing that i think he does particularly well, on an nba level. jamison at least can score and has great hands. plenty of deficiencies yeah, but there are some things he does tremendously. blatche… still waiting for it.

yet from what you hear on this site, the dude’s already an all-star.

I give up-

this team is more depressing than last year’s. I guess my expectations were too high. I’m basically trying to sell most of my season tickets to people who want to see the opposing team. That’s how bad it’s become.

correction

It was 10,000,000 dollars. Wow we are a horrid, cursed, disgraceful franchise. Renaming us the BULLETS may be the only way to end this insanity.

I think its time to blow up Ted Leonsis' e-mail

And see if we can convince him to do that.

Hello?

Gilbert and Antawn have never played defense, have no ability to play defense, have no desire to play defense and will never play defense. It took 30 games to figure this out?

The Big 3 have played at a level below the NBA average player this year. Putting them on a pedestal makes it harder for the role players and the bench. It’s past time to start over.
