Let us transform this team
It is quite clear this team cannot succeed with the current roster. But how do we want to re-make the roster? I say let us go run and gun, except with bigs that can run. I am shipping out Jamison/Butler/Haywood/Foye and try to get back atheltic wings that can run the floor/flexibility. Then I run with Blatche, McGee, athletic wing, Young and Gilbert. This lineup would be unique since we'd still have size but be able to run. Then next year, we sign a free agent that fits this system, add a lottery pick to this system and we go 8 deep.
I'd try to move Butler for Wallac
Jamison/Haywood for picks/relief/Interesting young player.

I was thinkin the same thought today
I say we start rebuilding, and the way we do that is trade everybody we can for expiring contracts except Gilbert, Young, Blatche, and McGee. Then we play with this lineup
PG- Gil
SG- Young
SF- ?
PF- Blatche
C- McGee
We play with this lineup even though we will lose so that they can gain experience for the future, since i think all of them are potential all stars if they get playing time. then next summer we sign a young SF, of the top of my head i can think of Rudy Gay. Add him into that starting lineup and in 2-4 years we’ll have a pretty good team. I think we are closer to rebuilding then a lot of teams because we have good young stars, we just have to face the fact that we need to rebuild and trade everyone. what do you guys think?
I like the idea in theory
It really is nice that we get faster as we get bigger. That said, we wouldn’t have any efficient scorers with that line up. Gil’s ok, but you can’t rely on him to get you efficient points every game. I love Phoenix’s system, but it’s really held together by having a bunch of fast, long guys who are also good shooters and who can clear out space for an offensive monster like Amare (who can also run, shoot, and pass).
Big 2
Arenas and a really good big man…Bosh? Clear cap space to get…..unload Jamison, Butler, Haywood (hate to see him go) and just get the helpful big guy and a steady backup PG. We’ll have a good lottery pick and select a forward. Maybe the rookie fills in at SF or we resign Miller.
Trade Twan for Brand
Any chance we can pull off Foye and Twan for Brand?
Brand has a big contract and injury concerns but he is a big defensive upgrade and gives us a post game. Eddie Jordan already soured on Brand and gets his known commodity with Jamison as well as a veteran guard expiring contract.
Brand isn't anything close to what he used to be...
He has no lift left in his legs.
If you have watched any of Philly’s games, Brand is no longer an effective post scorer; relying instead on mid-range jump shots. (NOT something the Wizards need right now)….
Not only that, but at one time, Brand was a stellar defensive player – that has also changed. He used to average over 2.5 blocks per game – and he’s now around 1.3 per game. This year, opposing PF’s are posting a 21.7 PER against Brand… !!!
I believe his defensive decline is entirely due to his leg injuries.

Hadn't seen a lot of him
Thanks for the info. 21.7 against is scary especially with him coming off the bench. I thought he had started to pick up his play in the last 5 or 10 games.

Maybe I'm just on the trade checker too much but...
Jamson and Mike James for Kirilenko and Ronnie Brewer.
Basically a big defensive upgrade for our team. For Utah Jamison can play with Boozer or Milsap and he should do well in the pick and roll.
or
Jamison and Randy Foye for Hinrich and Tyrus Thomas
We get a big defense guard who can take pressure off Arenas. Tyrus Thomas is a good defender should be better next to Haywood.
Bulls don’t seem that committed to Thomas. They add Jamison and go for win now.
As a long-time Kirilenko fan I love it
He would get to PF, his best position, and play it in the Eastern Conference, where its easier to play PF.
