Trade idea from a Bulls Fan

Hey guys, Im a bulls fan and right now the bulls are in need of some trades, so i came up with one, but to understand its realistic possibility i thought id post it here to see what Wizard fans thought of it, just in terms of likely-ness.

The trade is

Bulls give up John Salmons (sg/sf) and Tyrus thomas (f)

Wizards give up Mike Miller (sg/sf) and Javale McGee

Star-divide

Just in terms of what u will be getting, Salmons is a decent sg. He isnt really good in terms of shooting the 3 ball, and not good against alot of defensive pressure. He has great size at 6'7, and is strong. He does a good job of attacking the rim, especially finishing with contact. He can shoot off the dribble, but is best when within 20 feet or so. He is an okay rebounder, and defensively he is good at using his length, although not a stellar defender, he also wont hurt you on the defensive end.

Tyrus Thomas is somewhat of a project, but not a complete one. He is an extraordinary rebounder, and his freakish athleticism and timing make him an amazing help side defender. He has okay range 15 feet and out, is  a good freethrow shooter, and his ahleticism and body type give him a ton of upside. Bulls fans dont really want to get rid of him, but because he seems to be in the dog house, and because it seems management is willing to let him go in the offseason no matter what, We have decided that maybe they (bulls management) should just try to get rid of him now and get something in return. Tyrus should add alot of extra depth and defense to your team, while also not costing u anything in the long run since his contract expires this year. Salmons has a player option for this year, but it is believed that he may not accept it.

Anyway, Im intrested to know what u guys think...

Take out JaVale

JaVale’s worth more than Tyrus right now because of Tyrus’ extension, and there’s no need for us to add long-term money just to go from Miller to Salmons.

You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.

Interesting, but...

I really like john salmons and have for years. As a wizards fan I would enjoy seeing him take over an extremely unreliable shooting guard position and perhaps giving the wizards some SWAG. My problem with this deal is giving up mcgee AND miller. Both are critical pieces here, if McGee only for his potential. I think a more realistic trade the wizards would consider would be Miller and DeShawn Stevenson, or Miller and Mike James, or even Miller and Dominic Mcguire. I realize none of these players have nearly the potential or value that McGee does, but that’s sort of my point, I don’t think Tyrus Thomas justifies Mcgee. He has had many years now in the rotation in Chicago and I have yet to see him pan out into anything more than a lanky shot blocker with an occasionally streaky outside touch. We have him already in Andray Blatche. I don’t know the contract situation and find all that money talk quite boring, sorry.

hey bulls fan

just thought of this, tell me what you would think: Caron Butler and Mike James for John Salmons and Tyrus Thomas. Again sorry I dont speak contracts, but you get a proven starting Small Forward with defensive and offensive skills as well as a proven veteran back-up at point. Butler seems to be the odd man out this season for the Wizards and I both teams could benefit from this deal.

contracts

would the contracts somehow add up with butler and crittenton or butler and mcguire? i think we’d be amenable to both those deals as well

Sorry I will Pass

John Salmons is a gunner, a good slashing type, but he is someone who can’t play well off the ball. My issue with him is that he just takes too many shots out of the flow of the offense.

Tyrus Thomas is a straight up athlete, to me he is just a shorter version of JaVale McGee.

No way would we give up Mike Miller, way to many intangibles. Much better team player than Salmons.

As for JaVale, this kid has a very high upside compared to Thomas, mainly because of height. And JaVale seems very coachable.

run and gun cause the ball don't lie
