Indiana Pacers a lot, Washington Wizards a little

I don't want to say anything I'll regret, so ... go ahead and vent.

It's just shocking how little on-court chemistry we have right now.  Jeez.

All I can say is

You don’t win basketball games on paper, you win them by playing hard.

They played hard, we didn’t.

The D.C. sports seen

is really getting me down right now. We can’t count on anyone to show up consistently. 20 point loss to the Pacers, c’mon!

Why we kept running (voluntarily) into a wall of defenders and getting the ball stripped is beyond me. Do they not understand the concept of drive and kick?

I think we need to light the Hibachi

Ditch the robotic serious Gilbert and bring back the passionate insane Gilbert. That and someone put out an APB for Caron Butler’s heart.

Right On

I never thought I’d miss the Eddie Jordan era, but there was something about an insane Gil and a hungry, passionate Caron that made you think they could beat anybody. Now they look like they could lose to anybody, and they just did.

Perhaps

we need to reevaluate our goals for this team. We won’t even MAKE the playoffs playing like this.

Tale of Two 3 Game Stretches

I don’t know what to make of this team anymore. And I don’t care who was hurt, we had plenty of talent to win this game. Pathetic excuse for a performance by basketball players who call themselves “professional”. I’ve seen more discipline and teamwork at the YMCA.

This is where injuries hurt us

With Miller and Antawn down we only have 3 legit shooters who see much time. Its hard to swing the ball around when what ends up happening is Deshawn taking a wide open 3 and bricking it over and over again.

by Manimal Smith on Nov 6, 2009 9:40 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

O, I agree with you

Indiana managed to beat us with a team of role player and Danny Granger playing at about 80%.

They played team basketball and we played no spacing, no passing, brickball.

Paul Davis Should Have Played More

The Wizards were down by 20 points for most of the 2nd half. That’s what garbage time is for.

At Least We Stepped It Up in the 4th Quarter

We outscored the Pacers by 1. Yay.

in the majority of the 3rd quarter

gilbert was playing the sg position. he barely got any touches and pretty much just drifted off to the far corner. james and foye were the ones running the offense….or lack thereof.

Yeah he's more of a combo guard.

If no one get’s to it first I was gonna do a post on it tomorrow. Also he wasn’t aggressive enough tonight. True pg=championships…thoughts anyone?

Except

Nobody got hurt. At least, I hope. Did Blatche twist an ankle?

Bah Humbug

DeJuan Blair wouldn’t have let this happen!! Arenas and Butler aren’t playing like All-Stars and when Jamison comes back…no more excuses.

Pathetic

This team is about to lose me.

We look like a 19 win team + Arenas (= 28 wins)

by MR on Nov 6, 2009 10:49 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Im sick and tired of people dissing Deshawn. You really think Deshawn is the reason this team isnt playing well? Grow up man. Dominic McGuire doesnt hit shots, NY wasnt hitting shots, Blatche wasnt either. Stop blaming others, theres no I in TEAM.

Bottom line.

You saw the Mavs game. This team is built around a Arenas-Jamison-Caron-Foye-Blatche-Oberto-Haywood rotation and right now we have two guys out that were major contributors and complimentors and its hurting us. Chill out guys. If we lose two more games in a row then we need to start getting worried. I know the losses hurt and I didnt want to say this again for the fourth year in a row. But wait until we are all healthy.

Agreed

People are making a big deal about him not making shots, when the whole team could use a clinic on how to shoot the ball right now.

Blatche

I kind of saw this game coming for Blatche. I understand having him come off the bench to get accustomed to that role, but I think its best for the team needs him to start and play 30 plus minutes. Gilbert needs that other starter who can play off him and get easy buckets. Caron and Gil’s game don’t mesh that well alone. Gil gets the ball to Haywood because he makes the right cuts off his action. Blatche will open up the floor for the all the starters.
Gilbert
Deshawn (till Miller returns)
Caron
Blatche (till Jamison returns)

pacers were missing

dunleavy and murphy, and rush went down first quarter. injuries no excuse.

but it is early, and the offense is anemic right now. we’ll struggle mightily until they get a feel in this offense. more turnovers than assists, yikes.
