Surprise! Guess who starts at SG vs. IND? Not DeShawn. Not Randy. It's Nick Young! Goes from not playing to starting in 2 weeks.

Very interesting. I know how important D-Steve's D was, but I was just thinking to myself, it really hurts to have someone in there that can't hit an open shot and loves to get into a long triple threat every time he touches the ball, slowing down the flow of the offense. I'm very happy. I think Nick can succeed. Am I and pantslessyoda1 the only ones? :)

Not the only ones...

I called for him to start the season at the starting SG spot.

Foye can’t start, because he needs to come in for Gil at PG. If Foye did start, he’d either have to play all of the first quarter and the first half of the second quarter, or play the first half of the first quarter, sit, and then return when Gil heads to the bench. That doesn’t seem like a good idea.

So, as starter options, that leaves Stevenson and Young. And Mike James, of course, at least in theory.

I'm excited

I want to see Nick succeed and stay with the team. Hopefully he holds his own on defense.

not a big NY fan

but it makes sense with Miller and Jamison out. We can afford to trot out his atrocious defense when we have Oberto in there for Jamison.

You can't start deshawn and oberto

That would be the worst line up ever. It’s almost NY by default. Hopefully he impresses.

But it think Flip is smart in bringing Blatche off the bench.

Keep it as easy on him as possible, as this will b his role when Jamison comes back (which will be soon hopefully!)

I agree with that

Just saying I don’t think this is necessarily NY simply by default.

You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.

More from Lee

Flip giving another test:

“It’s another opportunity,” Saunders said. “I’m giving him a shot to see what he can do. When you’re on a team where there is a lot of competition at those spots, what you need to do is take advantage of any opportunity you can get,” Saunders said. “Usually good players, that’s what they do.”

My swag was phenomenal.
