Bethlehem Shoals: Is Gilbert getting a bit of a free pass for his Twitter "challenge?"
Interesting food for thought from Shoals, who suggests that Arenas is probably the only player in sports who could get away with refusing to tweet until he gets 1 million followers. It is true that, if LeBron or Kobe were to do that, there would be some backlash against them.

I would agree with this-
Gilbert is perceived as eccentric – I assume that his widely read blog contributed to this perception. Kobe and Lebron are perceived as arrogant, controlling and as lacking humor (at least to me and people I know). If either of them tried this – people would think they are being primadonnas.

Agreed
People would think Kobe and LeBron were primadonnas for such a situation….just as they think Arenas is for the same reason.
It’s all about equal opportunity hatin :)

Yeah
Because Kobe and James have so much going against them, they deserve a little accolade.
