I would agree with this-

Gilbert is perceived as eccentric – I assume that his widely read blog contributed to this perception. Kobe and Lebron are perceived as arrogant, controlling and as lacking humor (at least to me and people I know). If either of them tried this – people would think they are being primadonnas.

People would think Kobe and LeBron were primadonnas for such a situation….just as they think Arenas is for the same reason.
