Open Thread: NBA.com airing Wizards' practice live at 10:30 a.m.
UPDATE: If you can't watch the livestream now, it's reairing at 10 pm tonight on NBATV.
Howdy folks,
I'm back in the saddle and on my way to Richmond to continue to cover the Wizards' training camp for you guys. Kyle filled in with some coverage over the weekend, and the two Mikes were also there to give us the inside scoop. Here's a rundown of their coverage:
- Wizards Insider: Crittenton out at least two weeks
- Outlet: Wizards Injury Updates
- Truth About It: The Competitive Nature of Javaris Crittenton's Injury
- Wizards Insider: Day 5: Flip Introduces 'Football Saturday'
- Outlet: Wizards Play Football, Go Big
- Washington Post: Saunders is Selling Defense, and Wizards are Buying In
- Wizards Insider: Communication is the Key on D
- Washington Times: Wizards' Saunders Takes a Different Route
- Wizards Insider: Day 6: The Pollins & Youngs Comedy Act
- Outlet: Day 6
- Truth About It: Andray Blatche Continues Down the Development Path
You can also follow all of us on Twitter (@MrMichaelLee, @sptswrtrjones, @BulletsForever, @Truth_About_It).
Today, however, is a special day because NBA.com is streaming live from Wizards practice at 10:30 a.m. today. If you have the ability, just go to NBA.com and watch it right there on your computer. It's supposed to re-air later today as well, both on NBA.com and on NBATV (not sure what time though).
This is an open thread, so go nuts.

I like how Flip is keeping the sets moving
and only takes occasional breaks to explain something. We are definitely going to be more versatile from an offensive-option POV.

one more thing
that NBA 2k10 commercial with Kobe taking on the entire NBA is ridiculous.

If anyone feels like meeting up in the arena before the game
I am sitting in Sec. 34, Row C, Seat 6. I will have a bullets hat on and probably an Arenas shirt on as well (I know how dorky!)

I love Mike Miller
What a great addition to the team he’s going to be.

White dude with the mic...
…thinks Miller is the undisputed starting SG?
My swag was phenomenal.

I love Flip's enthusiasm
If I were a player, I’d love a coach that’s so into practice.

Why is Antawn in sweats and a t-shirt?

He wears those a lot
I’m told it allows you to sweat more, thereby getting in a better workout.
Sheed was sporting similar gear during Celtics practice.
You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.

Oh, I thought it might be because he’s “mic’d up”
Hey, what’s with Flip’s hair? Is that a tail? Mullet?

So Rick Kamla thinks Mike Miller has the inside track to the starting SG position….. with Stevenson and Young behind him…

Kamla is a Timberwolves fan
So he’s saying that without truly knowing much about the other players on this team.

The body language of this team is encouraging
they genuinely seem happy to be out there together. That goes a long way towards on-the-court success.

What I noted most
was that AB and NY knew the plays. At one point, Saunders seemed to instruct Oberto to watch Blatche execute the play. And Saunders had to chide NY for not taking an open shot.
I’m loving it.
Its always Roger Mason (Jr.) time!

Yeah – Nick PASSED the ball…. and Saunders told him he should have taken the shot…. Actually, I saw Nick pass the ball a few times….
AND – he hit nearly everything he threw up – even with strong defensive pressure and a hand in his face…. Once, during the defensive drills, when Nick hit the shot, even with a defender right on him and a hand in his face, Saunders turned away shaking his head – like he was saying “I can’t believe he just hit that shot !”

I can't believe it
But the Wizards were actually playing defense! There weren’t any open three point shooters like we’ve been accustomed to. Obviously, it was only practice but it was still nice to see.
