So there are optimists out there!

"Caron is a great number 2"
Does that mean he’s a great 2-guard, or a great second option? I know Caron can play the 2, but he doesn’t, especially with the crowded backcourt we already have. I’m hoping he meant the latter, because it means he’s actually seen a Wizards game before.
Call me crazy, but I’m letting the small sample size of one game block all reality. I’m reading Simmons’ Book of Basketball (which is great, by the way), and he talks about “The Secret” to winning championships, and many of the characteristics he defined in a championship winning team are found in the Wizards. I’m not jumping on Caron’s bandwagon (that he’s apparently so “serious” about), but there’s a glimmer of hope. The Cavs don’t look great, the Celts rely on a bad knee, and the Magic rely too much on the tre (which took them quite far last year, and has been our defensive cryptonite).
But there’s a difference between winning the regular season battle and the being the Conference champs. See ‘06-’07 Mavericks.
My swag was phenomenal.
I'm not so sure
Maybe it’s the Redskins’ mediocrity blocking me from having a whole lot of optimism for this team, but I don’t think we’ll win the East. I think we’ll win around 50 something games, and get into the second round at least, but I think winning the East is a little overly optimistic, especially after one game. I don’t necessarily think it’s impossible or anything like that, but I’m not expecting it, but I most certainly am hoping for it.
I think Boston is poised to take it this year (of course, only if they’re healthy, just like us). They look scary good. Cleveland doesn’t look like they have “it” this year. Orland is a good team, but I think we could take them in a 7 game series. Atlanta is “pretty good” at best to me, they don’t look elite. If we’re matched up with anyone else in the East, I’m expecting a win for that series in the playoffs.
It’s only been two games so it’s probably premature to say this, but I think we could take the third spot in the East, with Boston on top and Orlando second. Like I said above, I just don’t see Cleveland being nearly as good as they were last year. Which means Lebaby will be moving onto New York, or New Jersey with his BFF (or maybe it’s his BF, I don’t judge) Jay Z.
I guess some people finally realized after last night’s Cavs loss that we are better than Cleveland is. LeBron gets a triple double and they STILL lose to the Raptors? Haha, pathetic. I said before this season started that I did not like their supporting cast.
Do you guys have any doubt that if Gil, Caron, or Twan got a triple double, that the rest of our guys would be able to compliment it and just destroy the Raptors? I sure think so.
Cleveland goes 38-44 and Shaq’s new nickname is “The Big Failure.”
Limp and dangling.
