You know, it's weird. I found myself agreeing with him for the most part (like I do most of the time), but then I completely lost him when he got to the outlook for this season. Oh well.

On the bright side, he only had the Wizards winning 33 games last year, so it could be worse.

Hollinger’s 2007-2008 Season Prediction: 33-49, 5th in Southeast, 13th in Eastern Conference
http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/trainingcamp07/insider/columns/story?columnist=hollinger_john&page=WizardsPreview0708#

Actual record: 43-39, 2nd in Southeast, 6th in Eastern Conference

Hollinger’s 2008-2009 Season Prediction: 36-46, 4th in Southeast Division, 11th in Eastern Conference

John is a stats guy – so he should appreciate how I came up with these numbers. He is consistently low in his predictions for the Wizards. Just like a golfer that has a bad hook, perhaps we should aim more to the right………..
Based his consistent track record , we should add at least 4-5 seeds in the Eastern Conference, 2 Seeds in the Division and 9-10 games to the record….

Therefore: 46-36, 2nd in Southeast Division, 6th in the Eastern Conference.

Hmmm...

Actually, that’s not too far off my original prediction from 20 days ago….
(see Fanpost "My Eastern Conference predictions)….

I have Washington finishing 49-33, 2nd in Southeast, 4th in Eastern Conference

Of course, I made that prediction before knowing that Arenas would miss half the year….. but I’ll stick with it for now.

On average, he's been seven games off

That’d give us 43 wins again.

You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.
