Kwame Brown is headed back to the Eastern Conference.

Brown's agent, Mark Bartlestein, told ESPN.com on Monday night that the former No. 1 pick in the 2001 draft has reached a verbal agreement on a new contract with the Detroit Pistons.

The contract is believed to be a two-year deal worth $8 million, with Brown -- who spent his first four seasons as a pro in Washington after being drafted by then-Wizards president Michael Jordan -- holding a player option to return to free agency after this season.

ESPN.

This is too funny. You know that your first thought was that Kwame would become the latest Washington basketball player to break out in Detroit.

And my second thought was....

Well, it didn’t exactly work out for Jarvis Hayes….maybe this is the new trend.

My first thought was . . .

Doesnt Detroit have enough problems with GM, Ford and CHrysler imploding?

Kwame in Motor City

Well he will surely put up better numbers than Darko did.

Kwame

He’ll be OK in Detroit… He’s a pretty good man-on-man defender in the paint – well, he’s big…. and he’s hard to go around.

Just don’t ask him to:
Do ANYTHING offensively…..
Guard anyone on the perimeter
Rotate, or do anything associated with “help defense”
Guard the Pick-and-Roll
Catch the ball, Shoot the ball, Dribble the ball – or ANY other Basketball related skills

Expectations game

Eventually the expectations for Kwame are going to be so low that he can’t help but exceed them.
Seriously, at this point if he’s a 15 minute a game guy who averages 6 points, 6 boards, everyone will say that it was a great pick up for Detroit.

Well

6 and 6 per 15 minutes averages out to 16 points/boards per 40 minutes, and would exceed any per minute numbers he has ever put up, so I would say that’s pretty solid regardless what expectations are.

I am hoping for a brawl involving Brendan bodyslamming Kwame after Kwame attempts to kick a Wizard teammate in the groin (or other cowardly maneuver) out of frustration.

Getting buckets since 2003.

You know what . . .

This might be yet another ex-Wizard who goes to Detroit and does well. And that will make me ill.

I wouldn’t worry too much about that.
