Prior to the Vegas Summer League, one NBA source said Forbes would likely be invited to the Wizards' training camp and had a shot at making the team. But after his poor performance, the source said it's doubtful he will even get the invitation. Forbes said he has nothing lined up overseas and hasn't considered playing in the NBA Development League.
Boston Globe. Perhaps this means that Ernie's intention to fill the SF role was to have signed Forbes to do it, but a bad Summer League changed his mind. Maybe that's why there hasn't been much urgency with his search.

LOOK OUT! IT'S THE BOSTON GLOB! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!1
I can see the reasoning behind the move. I think he was looking at Forbes as the offensive yin to Taser’s defensive yang to back up Caron, but based on Gary’s dismal offensive output and Dominic’s improved offensive game, I don’t blame him for passing on him.
With that said, I think it would be in Gary’s best interest to sign with a D-League squad rather than make the jump to Europe for more money off the bat. He’s got the tools to be a player in the NBA, but I think he needs a little more time to adjust to the speed of the game. With a year or two, I could see him as a player in someone’s rotation.

Too bad
Cause I did like him to be a sleeper to make the team.
Oh well, he certainly got chances with being in the summer league starting lineup so much.
