The Warriors have until Friday to match the offer [for Kelenna Azubuike], but two NBA sources said they will not because they signed forward Maurice Evans, who split time between the Lakers and Orlando last season, to a three-year, $6.4 million deal.

Riverside Press Enterprise. If true, this takes another small forward off the market. Also, Josh Childress is really going to Greece.

Ernie

Sure did seem to be hinting at another move before the season starts. He never shows his cards, but in lawyer-like speak he seemed to say he’s looking for another player.

I thought he was hinting at remaining at 14...

Unless the “move” is a trade…..but probably not a free agent signing.

At least that’s how I took it.

Wow

Those Hawks fans are pissed! Man, I’m glad the Wiz don’t do stuff like that anymore.

“We’ll see how things go depending on who is out there and who is available to us. We’ll see where that goes and where that takes. We might go to 15 but that depends on what player is available to us.”

Update

According to Marcus Thompson of the Contra Coast Times, Evans hasn’t actually accepted the offer because he wants more money.

RSS...

Do fanshots now come to the main Bullets Forever RSS feed? That’s cool, I was just curious if I should now delete the Fanshots RSS.

by se7en on Jul 23, 2008 4:41 PM EDT   0 recs

Nah, I wouldn't delete the Fanshot RSS

FanShots are only with the Front Page RSS if they are bumped to the front page (i.e. usually if either Truth, Jake or I write one). Those that aren’t on the front page only get picked up by the FanShot RSS.

Bottom line Wizards don't have the funds

to sign the players we identified and the ones that would most help the team in the coming season. I have a feeling EG will sign an undrafted college FA for the final spot, that is about all the Wizards can do with the money they have left.
