"The Los Angeles Clippers said Wednesday that they had renounced their rights to Shaun Livingston, the recuperating guard who is an unrestricted free agent, and four other players.
The other players are Dan Dickau, Boniface Ndong, Smush Parker and James Singleton.
Livingston, taken by Los Angeles as the fourth overall pick in the 2004 NBA draft, hasn't played since injuring his left knee in a game on Feb. 26, 2007.
The Clippers declined to give him a $5.8 million qualifying offer this summer."

No big deal
Just don’t want to get anyone in any sort of plagiarism trouble…
Livingston might have worked if we didn’t sign Dee Brown, but now, there’s not really any room for him. Plus, was he ever any good before the injury?

Too much of a gamble
If you saw the film of this kid getting injured you would be incline to think he will never be the same again. Maybe bring him in for a tryout and see what he has, but at this point I doubt if he could even do a tryout. Too bad, great talent.

Yeah
The kid really tore himself up. I just watched one of the videos on YouTube that showed his injury. It looked like his whole leg just crumbled and collapsed. Just being able to walk again after an injury that severe is an accomplishment. Here’s how his Wikipedia page describes the injury:
In a game against the Charlotte Bobcats on February 26, 2007, Livingston suffered a debilitating knee injury, dislocating his left kneecap after landing awkwardly following a missed layup, resulting in the left leg snapping laterally. At first, doctors feared they may have to amputate Livingston’s leg due to the severity of the injury.[2] Livingston injured almost every part of his knee, tearing the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), the posterior cruciate ligament (PCL), and the lateral meniscus, badly spraining his medial collateral ligament (MCL), and dislocating his patella and his tibia-femoral joint.[3] The damage was such that recovery was expected to take 8 to 12 months to return.[3] Livingston missed the entire 2007-2008 season.
Just because he was a really good basketball player at one time does not mean he’ll ever be that good again. Chances are, his career is over.
