Gilbert Arenas isn't leaving Washington, despite opting out of the last year of his contract, which would have paid him around $13 million next season. Arenas and the Wizards have secretly agreed on a new multi-year deal, according to a GM friend of Washington executive Ernie Grunfeld.
New York Daily News, via Fanhouse. This doesn't strike me as remotely credible information.

No, I don't think you understand
It’s a secret agreement, therefore it has to be true.

It would not surprise me.
Cue the public denials. It would not surprise me at all though. It would explain why Gilbert feels he can represent himself and why he’ll be on the other side of the world when Free Agency hits. They’ve been talking like its a done deal since the meeting with Polin prior to game 5 versus Cleveland. It was then that Abe gave both AJ and Gilbert “assurances”.
