Artest to the Knicks?
Although Ron Ron keeps vacillating back and forth as to whether he'll opt out of the final year of his contract or not.... Reports keep surfacing about him going to the Knicks for the Mid-Level Exception (approx $6M)...
Take a pay cut of more than $1.5 Million per year to play for the Knicks?
And why?
Why is it that every time you hear about an All-Star player talking about other teams, it's always the Knicks, Lakers, Celtics, or Bulls.... Never the Wizards, Magic or Raptors..?!?!
It can't really be about a Championship (the Bulls suck, and the Knicks are even worse). It's gotta be the market size.

Exhibited all my frustrations.
You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.
NY
Artest is from Queens, thats why he is connected to the Knicks.
I think it is market size, but not for the athletes, for the media covering them. Chicago, LA, Boston, NY require more and/or bigger rumors than smaller markets. Plus the Knicks are horrible so the media has to throw out rumors to give fans hope.
Tru Warier & Go-Go
Could you imagine Ronny Artest promoting some BYB or JYB?
Not sure if that would be good for go-go or not…..still amazing me how DC has such a specialized genre that has never really made it out the city….outside of a couple collabos here and there.
Aside from Media Coverage
There’s the way more lucrative endorsement deals that come with it. Repping Macy’s, Citibank or Chase or being a local Sprite sponsor (albeit on billboards and local stations) gets you way more money than Eastern Motors or some other used car dealership in a different mid to small market local.
