Here's the final minute of the thrilling 2OT game between the Bullets and the Celtics from back in 1987, with the legendary Johnny Most on the call. If you don't know how this one ends, I suggest that you stop watching by the seven minute mark.

Wow
And I thought the Verizon Center crowd was tame. Just check out everyone that’s SITTING DOWN on the final play of the game. Yeesh.

I was there
Great game but a typical heartbreaker for the Bullets/Wizards. I’ve been watching those last second shots for over 20 years now and if there is more than half a second on the clock, I fully expect the other team to sink the shot. Back in those days, about half the fans would be rooting for the Celtics.
Nice to see Mark Alarie again. I forgot about him. Good role player who hit a couple of game winners in his time here. If I remember correctly, Darrell Walker excelled that night. He was similar to AD in his toughness, but bigger and a better rebounder. He didn’t drive as well and like AD, not much of a shooter. I believe #33 on the Bullets was Terry Catledge.
One of the best games I’ve seen live. I think Bird ended up with something like 47 points. Thanks for the memories.
