FIRE EDDIE, BRING IN D'ANTONI
Just wanted to be the first to say it. :)
I'm not a big fan of Eddie, never have never will be. I am impressed by what he was able to pull together with all the injuries, however I have never liked his rotations. I also am upset that he's let the defensive mindset slip since Gil's return. (I want it on the record that the slip in regular season defense coincided with Gil's return to practice, about 10 games before he touched the court in a game.
Feel free to discuss the merit or the foolishness of this idea. I'll be back with my complete thoughts later-

POINT #1 - How could Dominic McGuire have hurt
I don’t understand how he gets no burn this series. I understand the rookies are raw, no playoff experience… but a few minutes a game on LeBron could have helped… like, I don’t know, when he exploded at the end of the 2nd quarter on Sunday.

D'Antoni
But don’t the Suns have the same weaknesses as the ‘zards? A little bit soft, poor on defense.
They definitely play at a higher level but the same pattern nonetheless.

Agreed
I like D’Antoni, but he isn’t the right coach for this team.
If we replace Eddie, I’d like someone who pays more attention to detail.
You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.

That should read
“Pays more attention to detail than D’Antoni does“
You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.

And uses their bench more -
I think that has been a big criticism of D’Antoni’s style. I think we need a coach who is a little tougher on the players that Jordan if he gets fired. I don’t know if he will – I thought he did a pretty good job during the season dealing with all of the injuries.

You beat me to it KDP
How apt it would be – the “Suns of the East.” I think he would have the team playing harder than they do currently. But we certainly don’t have a Steve Nash, and the Suns always struggled mightily w/o him. I doubt D’Antoni would push us over the top for some of the reasons already mentioned.
Getting buckets since 2003.

I don't think firing Eddie is the solution
But if it is, I think another recently fired coach would be a better choice.
[Disclaimer, I’m a terrible evaluator of coaching talent.]

If anything -
the training staff really needs to be fired. A poster on Wizards insider a while back commented that Abe Pollin is really close to the head trainer and will never get rid of him unless he leaves on his own accord. The poster also mentioned that the training staff is the laughingstock of the league. He found this out from seeing a physical therapist who used to work for the wiz. Not sure how true this is though, but I wouldn’t be surprised. If we got anyone from Phoenix, I’d rather it be the head trainer. He’s done a pretty good job with Shaq and Grant Hill even thought their playoff run was bad as well.

YES! I've had the same thoughts
wishing for a medical staff that knew what they were doing. I always hoped the training staff went with the coach, but ours is one of the worst in the league. Pheonix’s head trainer is remarkable. Not only with what he’s done for Shaq and Grant Hill this year. But he brought Stoudamire back from 2… 2! microfracture surgeries. We could only dream…
