Around SBN: Celtics, Heat Score On Purpose In Super Sunday Wins

Nick Young could be ... D-Wade?

From an ESPN Insider (requires subscription) article advising rookies on which vet to emulate:

Young might be almost as talented as Wade (the healthy version), combining slashing with a deep- and mid-range scoring game. But he's often floating around the perimeter or settling for jumpers when, like Wade, he could beat most defenders off the dribble and get to the rack for the bucket or foul. His problem is very typical for young players, but some never ditch the habit.

Interesting comparison, though NY needs to bulk up a little to avoid getting blocked or pushed away once he gets into the trees. I definitely agree that NY needs to start taking the ball to the hole with a vengeance - once he does that, the open jumpers will come. - Update [2008-3-26 10:18:3 by Icantfeelmyface]: No subscription required - article is a free preview.

It's an interesting comparison
I would've thought they would've gone with Kobe for sure, but then again I think Nick's been trying to emulate Kobe since he started playing basketball so it's probably couldn't hurt to go another direction.

I also thought it was interesting to see that Dudley should emulate Caron Butler, which I totally agree with, and Al Horford should emulate Antawn Jamison, which would be nice, but I'm not sure if Horford has the skill set to pull that off.

Who Knows?

I'd almost say that Young has a better outside shot than Wade.

....and you're right, the Bean Burrito needs to put in a lot of time in the weight room.

I would say that.
Wade: 25.8% career from 3 (28.6% this year)

Nick: 38.8% from 3.

D-Wade is great going to the hoop, especially because people can sag off him behind the arc.
