Around SBN: Knicks Beat Lakers With Familiar Strategy

We're not saying, we're just saying...

I love Hollinger's statistical work, but when he tries to make the jump from historical statistical analysis to predictive opining about future events while contemporaneously incorporating non-numerical factors, he simply isn't very good. Or, at least, he is no better than anyone else with a bit of knowledge and an opinion.

heh
I was thinkin' the same thing. It'd be nice to finish with, say, 10 more wins than he predicted.

Cut Him Some Slack
He was trying to predict how the Wizards would perform over an entire season.  We can't even predict how they will perform each game!

Yes, but...
He gets paid, and is presented as an 'expert' on all basketball matters. Not really his fault, the espn.com editors should know better, but we are talking about espn after all.

I can't knock the guy though, he values my opinion :)

But then again
Experts analyze, they don't predict.  At least that's what they should be doing.
Predicting how this squad is going to perform is like trying to solve trig problems with pen and paper. -sierradave.
