Never Doubt Grunfeld

Remember when we all thought that trading JCN for a draft pick we won't see until 2016 was a bad move?

We were all wrong.  In Ernie We Trust.

We who?
I seem to remember a certain blogger and occasional/former hoops columnist who sorta liked keeping Stevenson instead of Navarro. http://kevinbroom.wordpress.com/2007/08/09/what-do-you-want-from-ernie/

We for all, and all for we
I meant we as in the collective pessimists that comprise the majority of the Wizards (relatively small) fan base.  Not the intelligent, savvy, optimistic, good-looking collective of fans that comprise the minority of the Wizards' fan base.

Is that better? :D

Why the Dis?
Why must we pessimists all be considered unintelligent, unsavvy, and ugly?

Sorry
Tom Knott influences my stereotypes of pessimists.

I'm a pessimist but-
we come in all shapes and sizes. I for one am a short brown home-owning brown dudette.

Also
It could be argued that if you've been a Wizards fan for several years and you aren't a pessimist, then you're either on drugs, crazy, or stupid.

Not that I'd make that argument, I'm just saying...

Still.....
The Grizzlies knew what they were doing with all that pick protection.

Ditto
And let's not pretend that Stevenson hasn't had 1 of 9 games himself this season. Deshawn has played better than I thought he would, but Navarro's ball-handling wouldn't have been a bad thing with Gil down and AD gimpy.

Of course, the guy who has really stepped up is Roger Mason. I suppose we might not have seen what he can do if Navarro had been signed.

We didn't have complete information
If DeShawn had made clear his beard-growing plans last summer, all the pro-JCN bloggers would have switched allegiance en un segundo.

This Just Means...
... that we lost little and gained nothing.  We should all be hoping that the Grizzlies do well, because that will increase our chances of actually retrieving that draft pick sometime in the next 5 years.
