Yes, Greg Oden outplayed JaVale tonight, and yes, the Blazers beat the Wizards tonight.
But that does NOT mean this picture isn't sweet.

This was the first time this Blazer fan got to see JaVale McGee.
I heard about him first from TruthAboutIt’s post over on Blazers’ Edge, when he claimed to rather have McGee over Oden. As a Blazer fan, I wouldn’t make that swap.
But I have to say that I did come away impressed by McGee’s game. He did some things very well that will not show up in the boxscores. You guys have a good one there. I would still take Oden, but that takes nothing away from McGee.

Yea, it's still a tough call in my eyes.
McGee has definitely had better games.
But until he builds strength, Oden is better suited for the pounding against top notch NBA teams.
Considering the slow pace the Blazers like the play, Oden is definitely better suited.
If Gilbert Arenas ever returns, and the Wiz increase the running, McGee gets the edge for the system.

from the northwest,
n I agree…a great guy mcgee will be, but I’ll keep oden…but had we ended up with mcgee via a diffrent draft position, I wouldn’t be upset.

Man...
I saw the drool on McGee’s face when he saw Oden with his back turned to him. Unfair. So does this mean that McGee wins a $1000 bounty for being the first Wizard to dunk on Oden? Or is it just the Kings and Clippers that are doing that. Stay classy LA and Sacramento!

Do they really do that?
It’s sort of hilarious if true.
I actually don’t think there’s a player in the league who JaVale doesn’t want to dunk on. Dude lives for the possibility of an oop.
Also, while I’d prefer Oden to McGee in a one-on-one swap, our guy has way more upside in the humor department. See “Kill + Mode = Cheese.”

Yes
There are dunking bounties. I get the feeling that if it goes on in the Wizards locker room, it’s just so they get a week free of pranking.

I wouldn’t really say “outplayed”
McGee: 18 mins 6 pts 7 rbds 3 blks 2 stls 0 TO’s
Oden: 31 mins 13 pts 10 rbds 1 blk 3 TO’s
I realize stats aren’t everything but in 13 extra minutes on the court Oden only scored 7 more points and grabbed 3 more rebounds. I still feel McGee’s athleticism sets him apart from Oden and is the main reason I’d rather take Young Fella over him.

AND HAD 3 MORE TURNOVERS!..
I’m a oden critic. like the kid, but still a critic.

i wouldnt say he outplayed him either
but odens athleticism should be nothing to hold against him. you cant block shots like oden does without some freakish athleticism esp coming off that knee surgery.

That wasn’t a knock against Oden’s athleticism, just high praise for McGee’s.

Riding Pine
Is it me, or was JaVale on the bench for most of the second half? Darius should not be stealing minutes from Javalius Superiorus, and why aren’t we running ally oops for the Big Kid? Come on!
Also, I would like to note that Wes Unseld Jr. is no Red Auerbach. He calls a play at the end of the game that involves an inbound to Jamison and a fadeaway jumper by Songalia?? Wha, wha, what, what?

My big question
Was why take out Butler in the final seconds of the 1st half to put in NY who allowed a layup and committed a foul for good measure to give a 3 point play to end the half. Wouldn’t that situation have called for McGuire?
