During one timeout, a poll was put up on the scoreboard asking fans to text in the answer to this question: Which WIzard is weakest in the weight room? Later, players on the team were shown on the scoreboard and asked the same question. Almost all of them pegged Andray Blatche. (Haywood: "Oh, that has to be Andray Blatche.")
It was intended to be funny and would've have been if not for Blatche's notoriously questionable work ethic and for the fact that the team's trainers and coaches have been trying to get him on a serious weight program for four years.
It also didn't help that late in the second quarter, Kendrick Perkins posted Blatche up, easily received an entry pass, backed Blatche down and then easily scored.

Hell, Eddie Jordan was talking about his conditioning early this year...
And people wondered earlier this year….“why isn’t Andray playing him more?…Eddie J is doing him bad” etc., etc….but the kid is obviously not putting the work in off the court and doesn’t always deserve the minutes that others think he should get.

Zzzzz
Nobody’s saying he should be a featured player, but he’s played quite well in spite of whatever shortcomings you want to talk about ever since Tapscott took over. This was really unnecessary by Ivan.
You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.

Unbelievable
I think this was a cheap shot by Ivan. I don’t really understand the need to print this, especially because Blatche has played really well recently. Kendrick Perkins bowled over JaVale McGee as well.

I think it was fine to write about
in that it’s something of general interest, Ivan has to come up with game notes, etc.
What I disagree with is him taking one play where Blatche didn’t perform well and using it to basically indict his whole season. I didn’t see the game (which is probably just as well), but even though Blatche finished with a -8, he had three rebounds and three blocks in just under 16 minutes, while Songaila played longer (19 minutes), collected 1 rebound and no blocks and finished at -15. You could make a serious argument that Blatche has been the Wizards’ best center this year.
I don’t mind that Ivan wrote about the poll, I just wish he didn’t use it to reinforce a flawed and/or incomplete picture of Blatche’s season.
