Boozer Trade?
Paul Milsap posted his 10th straight double-double tonight. I think his success makes Boozer expendable. Both of their contracts are up after this year.
Wizards get - Carlos Boozer, Utah's first rounder.
Jazz get - Haywood, Songaila, Pech, and Washington's first rounder.
I feel like the Jazz have always been a center away from being a legit contender. Songaila excels in the pick and roll game which is Jerry Sloan's signature. Our first rounder has value since we are getting beat so badly...especially vs. Utah's pick which will be much lower. I have a feeling Utah will be content letting Boozer walk after this season and re-up Milsap so he can start.
The question is would Boozer sign a new contract upon arriving?
Arenas, Young, Butler, Boozer, McGee would start. Jamison would come in as the 6th man.
It's late so I can't tell if this deal looks awful, it makes sense to me.

We Can't Give Up Haywood
We would be the softest team in the NBA if we did. He’s the only guy who can effectively body up on guys in the paint and play competent defense one-on-one with opposing bigs. I really like Boozer, but we need to find another combination of players that will make this work.

I don't think Utah gives up a 1st rounder in that scenario

Boozer's just a bigger, slightly better Jamison
About the same defensively. I see no point.

He's bigger.
Jamison’s size at the 4 spot is killing us. Watching him match up with Elton Brand was painful. He has shown NO desire to improve on defense. He keeps pointing fingers at everyone else while the PF on every team we play rips him up.
There is no way Jamison is that bad on D.

But Boozer's not good either
Go talk to the guys at SLC Dunk. Some of them have been harping on this since the site’s inception.
Replacing Jamison with a slightly better version of Jamison seems a bit redundant. We have bigger issues to solve.
Honestly, I’d rather have Shawn Marion.

Marion
would be great for this team. I’d even take Artest. Tyrus Thomas is supposed to be available…why not him?

I'd love Thomas
Not sure who I’d trade for him though.

I'd never want....
A guy who came out of Dook…..who I expected would be a terrible NBA player…..but proved me wrong. Spite.

I want Boozer
We could just run pick and roll all day with Arenas. can’t really do that with any of the guys on our roster.

Jamison?
Well, pick and pop at least.

To be honest
I trust Boozer as a shooter more than AJ. I’m sure you’re gonna throw some stats in my face since I’m too lazy to look, but from the Jazz games I’ve watched Boozer looks pretty reliable in the mid range game.

I've been the biggest Ricky Rubio homer around
but thinking about this makes Blake Griffin tempting, especially if is right and the best case is Carlos Boozer while the worst case is David Lee. I haven’t seen much of an offensive game from Blake Griffin but what do I know?
