Trade Proposal
What's up? I'm a Hornets fan, and I have a trade proposal that I would like some comments on. Would you trade Etan Thomas for Mike James and a 2nd. I'm not going to pretend the Mike is a gamer. He came off the bench for us during the first few games and was pretty bad. This move would free up a little cash and get you a second rounder. As it is, Thomas' minutes have been some what limited in favor of McGee and Blatche, and I'd imagine that the trend would continue. Also you guys could use a little backup point help until Gilbert returns. Mike was rough but Dee Brown has been atrocious. Anyways, l'd love to get some opinions on this. Good luck with the rest of the year (p.s. I was really hoping for the hornets to get Nick Young, cause I thought he'd be a stud. Looks like I was right, but we arepretty happy with juju.)
This represents the view of the user who wrote the FanPost, and not the entire Bullets Forever community. We're a place of many opinions, not just one.

Mike expires this year, right?
If so, sign me up.
You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.
Actually
He has a player option, which he would almost certainly exercise, which takes him through 2010… (same as Etan)…
That trade makes sense for the Hornets, as they can always use a backup to Tyson Chandler at Center….. Devin Brown seems to have taken over the backup PG spot – so James is relegated to the end of the bench in New Orleans.
However, James is an undersized Shooting Guard, in the same mold as Juan Dixon. He is NOT a Point Guard….. And although he used to be considered a pretty good defender, something has happened in recent years (age?) and he’s more like a matador now. He’s only shooting 32% from the field (hell we’ve got guys on the team NOW that shoot 32% – see Stevenson, DeShawn)… and he jacks shots whenever he touches the ball (see Juan Dixon)…
I think that the initial reaction of most Wizards fans would be – YES YES YES – please take Etan Thomas…. but it would be a mistake. Something better will present itself – if not this year, then certainly next year.

Yea....
If we didn’t have Juan Dixon, then maybe.
If the Wizards did it, it’d only be a savings of 887,900….but then again, EG might like having James over Dixon next year, who knows.
And the extra money might give the Wiz enough to sign a draft pick.

You Could Offer a Ham Sandwich and Some Cash for Etan and EG Would Probably Take it
And I would too.

Thanks for the comments
Yeah Mike ain’t the player he used to be, but I figure it would be worth it to the’zards for the cap space and the second round pick. And it would essentially allow you to cut Dixon thereby creating additional cap space.
Not that anybody asked but the Hornets really need backup center and point guard help. Send Morris Peterson toIndy for Tinsley, get Etan from you guys, and maybe trade a first rounder to Minny for Rashad McCants, and I think we become the second best team in the west for the next 3 years. Anyways, thanks for the comments guys, and good luck turning the ship around.
