Well, it's nice to see that it's standing on two legs, smiling, and out in public. The wax sculpture is nice too.

Oh, and at this event Gilbert said that finishing in last could be "for the better" in the long-term. I know that sounds kind of weird, but I'm pretty sure Gilbert meant that in the best way possible.

I would be pissed – I mean, they are out there busting their asses trying to win a game or two and Arenas is chillin’ on the sidelines talking about how finishing in last wouldn’t be a terrible thing.

I mean, we all know Arenas just looks at things from a fan’s point of view and that he probably didn’t mean any harm….however, he is the 111 million dollar man now and I think some people might rather see him keep quiet ‘til he’s back on the court.

And maybe I’m just blind to reality – as bad as the team has been, perhaps I’m delusional for thinking that we could possibly go anywhere at all this year and I should accept our fate…. Can we get another D.C. Optimist interview up in here?

Everyone thinks Gil doesn’t care about the Wiz not doing well. He does! And both Caron and Antawn knows it! No need in them being pissed. I have seen him in an interview where it really pains him to not be able to contribute. He did NOT mean anything negative about the team when he made that statement. The press is the one putting a negative spin on it like he doesn’t believe in the players. He gives advice to the rookies on how they can do things better from his vantage point on the bench. Actually, in his own different way, he was trying to find a light at the end of what could be a long and dark tunnel. People need to lay off Gilbert and quit ridiculing the man. I say you go Gil! Can’t wait until your return and I am praying that you come back better than 100% to shut up all of these haters! Love your wax figure too!

Do not be fooled by ESPN and Sports Talk Radio hysteria

Mike and Mike were sounding off on this morning and I could not stand it. It is such a non story but these blowhards on radio need something to blabber about.

I am more concerned with the team on the floor than any candid comments by Gil about hypothetical situations. His teammates know that Gil speaks his mind and they also know how hard he works so he can be back out on the court. I doubt this silly quote causes any disharmony within the locker room. Gil has been more vocal in teaching the young player this season than ever before from the games that I have seen on TV.

Can Nick Young stop turning the ball over in clutch situations? Will Blatche actually block people out? Can anyone make some 3’s at a consistent level? How does Joe Johnson get 5 seconds to shoot a wide open 3 with a minute left in the game off an inbounds play? This is what drives me nuts.

These ESPN and radio hacks do not care about the Wizards and just need something to jump on their soap box about.
