Chris Kaman?
Apparently the Clippers have talked to half the teams in the nba about a possible trade involving Chris Kaman. I think bringing in Kaman could go a long way towards salvaging this season, and he could be a real contributor going forward. this is the trade offer i came up with real quickly, but i doubt the Clippers would accept.

What does everyone else think about trying to bring in Kaman?

The problem is....
That creates a clog with Haywood returns….even if you assume McGee is versatile enough to play the four.

No
Haywood’s better and cheaper, plus we also have McGee.
You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.

I don't know about Haywood being better
Kaman would bring a lot of things that the wizards need but you’re right, he’s too expensive.

Can't see the attraction
Although – having Kaman on the Wizards THIS year may help to solidify the middle – I can’t see why the LA Clippers would want to do this trade.
Etan Thomas hefty trade kicker that would push his salary over $7.5 million next season – and even though his contract runs out in 2010 – I’m not so sure LA will bite… They know they could just wait until next year, and Thomas will still be there if they want him. They can entertain other offers for the next year…
As for Blatche- had he come out this year, and shown any consistency, LA may have been intrigued. But Andray still has conditioning issues. He can’t seem to keep from making the same dumb mistakes every game. Has not shown any consistent effort from game to game. In short – he’s a 4th year head case. Every GM in the League will know that by now.
If Ernie were somehow to convince LA to go for the deal… the Wizards would have given up about a third of their $20 Million in contracts that are expiring in 2010; and would limit the type of players they might be able to go after in 2009. It eliminates players like AK47, or a Sign-and-Trade for Carlos Boozer… Joe Johnson, etc…
I said it before – I think the Wizards best hope for a serious Championship run is next year, when Arenas is back 100% and Haywood will be badk. Ernie may be able to trade those expiring contracts for a near All-Star player – or two very good role players.

right
as i said, this is a trade that would almost certainly be rejected. i had a few minutes before class, so i just put up the first trade that checked out.
i just posted this to get some opinions on trading for kaman. if it wouldnt cost us young, jamison, arenas or butler, which in all fairness, it probably would, i would be pretty interested in making a deal for him. i like the idea of a haywood/kaman split at center, with a jamison/mcgee split at power forward. this is all assuming that blatche would be in the deal, so no need to worry about his minutes

The Clippers need to dump Camby or Kaman since they just acquired Randolph
And they’re desperate for help on the perimeter. I’m not sure if the Wiz have much to offer on that front, but Kaman is the Clipper most likely to get traded…

I take that back...
From the Chicago Tribune:
Talk around the league is the Clippers will keep all three big men after acquiring Zach Randolph from the Knicks to see how it works playing Randolph with Marcus Camby and Chris Kaman in the short term.

Granted they haven't played very well so far, so it's worth a shot
But this just sounds like a bad, bad idea.

96 minutes at PF and C to go around
How are they going to divide them up?
And how can they going to divide the shooting guard minutes? Gordon isn’t ready, Ricky Davis stinks and still has to play a few minutes at small forward because he and Thornton are the only guys there who can play the position.
Freakin’ mess.

Kaman would be a GREAT acquisition...
…Kaman would be an exponential upgrade to Haywood. Kaman / McGee would be scary good. Kaman is more athletic than Brendan or Etan. I’d ship Andray today for Kaman. You’ll never question Kaman’s effort like we have int he past with Benden/Thomas/Blatche.
Asyoucan tell, my man love crush with Andray is over — he has dissapointed me one too many times and I’m through with this tease!!!
