Let's get this started right

For this, I turn to sierradave:

We will beat Miami
If I have to come up for the game, head out onto the court, and give a couple fouls MYSELF.

We will beat Miami.

Will those couple of fouls

Involve anything like a crowbar to the back-of-the-knee Nancy Kerrigan style?

It depends

I’d have to compare Dave’s 40 time with that of Miami’s security squad.

Hopefully Dixon handles the starting role better this time around.

Starters tonight are...

Dixon, Stevenson, Butler, Jamison, and……..

Thomas.

Also, Marion is back for the Heat tonight. Lovely.

But Jamison is (badly) defending Beasley.

Well on the bright side we've had bigger deficits

Given that we’re playing in city with a party scene like Miami, I find it a bit shocking that we’re not down by more.

Make that this season.

I hate to say it, but it’s true. Last year his offensive production outweighed his defensive lapses – but he is down in almost every major statistical category this year…hopefully it’s just a slump….

The Bright Side

we can’t POSSIBLY play worse offensively in the second half.

Getting buckets since 2003.

by Icantfeelmyface on Nov 14, 2008 8:34 PM EST reply actions

We aren't getting any easy shots

We need someone to facilitate our offense so we can get some of those…. Since we don’t have that right now the only other way I can think of getting any easy shots would be off the defensive end. It makes it too difficult to set up our offense after a MIA made shot. Which brings me to my point…. I have no idea what Etan brings to the court, I don’t know why McGee isn’t in the game to anchor our defense (which he obviously does much much much better than Etan)

Dear Diary, JACKPOT!!!!!!!!!!

by Evander holyfield on Nov 14, 2008 8:35 PM EST reply actions

Butler & Jamison

Our two All-Star forwards are a combined 6-18 (33%)….with only 12 points.

2 rebounds for the entire half (16 minutes) for Etan Thomas – tell me why he’s the starter again? (McGee had 3 in 7 minutes! )

The Wiz are being out-rebounded by one of the worst rebounding teams in the league….

Eddie “shook up” the lineup by starting D-Song for Etan. (I guess MIA does have a small frontcourt).

Chalmers

Mario Chalmers is playing a nice game…. I thought the Wizards had a chance to pick him up in the 2nd round in the Draft….

He’s a real good perimeter defender….. 2 steals already, and has disrupted Juan Dixon the entire first half…. not bad with 6 assists, too.

You have inadvertently hit on what his game reminds me of…an All Star game! No D, jack up every shot you can…all he needs are some senseless no look behind the back lobs and he’s got it!

Question

Since when has the NBA allowed the Wizard’s opposition to have an extra man on the court? Clearly we are playing 5 on 6, or else we would contest at least one shot per quarter.

by MR on Nov 14, 2008 9:34 PM EST reply actions

I've seen a lot of bad Bullets/Wizards teams

but I don’t think I’ve ever seen one that is more flat with less life and energy than this one.

by MR on Nov 14, 2008 9:57 PM EST up reply actions

I hope

There’s never been a more flat or lifeless team than us in the NBA before. It’s starting to get a little ridiculous. I’m trying to give my support to this team but if they continue to play like this on the floor and not give their all I’m most certainly not going to give my all as a fan; and they wonder why Verizon Center is so lifeless at times. We take after our team.
