Open Thread: Regular Season Game 6 vs. Utah Jazz
Utah Jazz at Washington Wizards, Nov 12, 2008 8:00 PM EST
UPDATE: AD's going to play and start. Mehmet Okur is out for the Jazz.
UPDATE 2: Game's on Comcast+, which is either Channel 6 or 8. The Caps game is on CSN. Thanks to Truth for the heads up.
0-6? Let's hope not, but I've got a bad feeling. It's good that Utah's on the second game of a back-to-back, though.
I have a meeting at 9, but otherwise, I'm around.
GO WIZARDS!

Finally, I get Buck and Phil!
It’s about time.
You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.
Antonio Daniels will tough it out.

Not sure if him hobbling around the court is a good thing.

I wish he would mix it up a bit.
I know he has a good jumper but he needs to pump and drive more to keep defenders honest. I think he’s a little too excited coming in off the bench – I really think he’d be better as a starter.

Lineup
How about the lineup Eddie’s been playing? McGee, Blatche, Jamison, Butler and Stevenson.
Finally some big ball.
Centers
Let’s see:
Center comparisons –
Thomas = 8 minutes, 0 points, 2 rebounds
McGee = 12 minutes, 8 points (4 for 4), 4 rebounds, and 2 blocks….
Tell me why Thomas is starting again?
Eddie likes his vets -
But McGee sure is making a case for starting.

Big Lineup
Is EJ trying to lose? Its so obvious that large ball is the key. Even Ivan’s gotten the memo.
PG Arenas*/Stevenson/Daniels/Dixon/Brown
SG Butler/ Young/ Stevenson/ Dixon/ McGuire
SF Jamison/Blatche/Butler/McGuire
PF Blatche/Songaila//Jamison/McGee/Pecherov
C McGee/ Haywood*/Thomas/Blatche/PecherovSongaila
Can Jamison play small forward?
I’ve always wondered why he doesn’t. Starting Blatche would be worth a try since he played much better last year when he was starting
Okur is in Turkey
He’s attending to a family matter or something to that effect. I don’t remember the exact details.

Wiz D
The Wizards are just a better team when JaVale McGee and Nick Young are playing with Butler and Jamison….
It really doesn’t matter who plays PG, Stevenson, Daniels or Dixon…. When that four is in the game, the Wiz are usually playing very well -
AND – How about some D from Nick Young tonight!! Blocked 2 perimeter shots tonight …. chased Kyle Korver and Miles around screens all night (Korver shot 3-9 , Miles was 5-9)… He got hung up on a couple of screens, and was out of position twice, but I think it’s officially time we stopped calling Nick a “bad defender”…. I think he’s graduated to mediocre.
