Wizards now up 31-27.....JaVale McGee has 9 points on 3-5 shooting and Dee Brown is being described as a game changer.

Same ol' Andray?

10 points……AND 4 fouls in 11 minutes….that’s an incredible rate!

For real?

At the half, it sounds like McGee is doing some good things again tonight…. and Dee Brown has 3 points, 4 REBOUNDS, and 2 Assists in a little over 9 minutes of play. It’s only been 1 and a half games, but these two guys may be real basketball players.

Good news all around regarding Jamison….

Dominic McGuire with 0 points (0-2) but leads the team in rebounds.

McGuire Starting?

Butler taking the day off….

I wonder if that’s an indication of Eddie Jordan’s comfort level with Dominic – and whether that will translate to fewer minutes for Butler this year…

Big lineup

Eddie Jordan mixed up the lineups some in the 3rd quarter…

at one point, he had Etan Thomas (6’10") at Center, Pecherov (7’0") at PF and JaVale McGee (7’0") at SF !! AND Dermarr Johnson (6’9") at SG along with PG Antonio Daniels…

THAT’S A BIG LINEUP !

Just me?

Is nobody else excited that JaVale McGee is going crazy right now???

I'm going to use the terminology...

“Ahead of schedule” — which is a good thing. He’s playing hard like he wants to earn the minutes…..which doesn’t hurt now that Haywood is out.

YES!

Dear everything holy! What a line for McGee! Wish I hadn’t missed the audio feed. Did he sound as good as that line looks??? 8 boards, 20 points on 8 of 12 shooting, 3 blocks?

I wish Taser would shoot more and start dropping them. 8 boards isnt bad though.

I also can’t believe Rudy Gay took and missed 5 3’s. Ridiculous.

If only we could trade Taser for one day and have him put up 30 on us off their bench before we got him back...

Linton Johnson

sounded like he did a good job of forcing Rudy Gay to the perimeter.

If JaVale McGee were to play like this every night then i think Eddie Jordan would have to rethink what he said about JaVale cracking the rotation.

Defense?

Rudy Gay missed a lot of shots, mainly because of good defense by Linton Johnson and Dermarr Johnson… They hounded him most of the night.

And, YES, McGee’s game did sound as good as the line. He had a tremendous game. I just wish I could have actually watched it…. but let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves – he’s just a rookie – and most likely will spend the majority of the year on the bench. But still, the skill level is there (and I was one that hated the pick, wanting the Wizards to choose Roy Hibbert…. I thought JaVale was a terrible draft choice)…

Dominic has had two consecutive bad shooting nights, but like Butler, he can fill up the stat sheet in other areas… Yesterday he had only 2 points, but 4 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal. Today, only 2 points again, but 8 rebounds, an assist and a steal in 17 minutes.

Dee Brown had another good game. 7 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 TO….. Played real good defense, and hounded Conley and Lowry into 4 Turn Overs… When do we start believing?

Dermarr Johnson had another good game… and Juan Dixon must be feeling the heat by now…. (I think Juan and Dermarr are fighting for the final roster spot).. 11 points (4-7, 1-1 3pointers), 3 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks…and played good defense all night. He brings something that the Wizards just have not had before, a guy that, at 6’9" can play Shooting Guard (along with both Forward positions). He’s big, versatile, experienced and plays good defense. Juan better start looking for work.

With it...

That’s why I used ‘ahead of schedule’ — which means that I’m now glad we drafted him over Hibbert, and perhaps Chalmers.

Promising beginning for McGee but I am still not sold on the draft pick or the whole entire draft strategy by Ernie. I hope no one got hurt.

What? They don't have TV in the D-League? Don't watch me, watch TV.
