BULLETS FOREVER FANTASY LEAGUE?

I've been in and out for a while but just was checking if you all already did the league this year...

If not, would anyone be interested in doing another league?

last year was the first time I played fantasy basketball, but it was pretty cool. hard to keep up with setting the lineups for the week but still- anyways, drop a note if u got some info or if your interested-

peace-

KDP

Nothing yet

I agree it’d be fun though. Last year, I didn’t check much, but if I’m in, I’ll check more.

You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.

Totally forgot about that

I guess we could still try to whip something up real quick if we can get enough interest.

More than likely, we wouldn’t be able to get it up and running until after the season starts, but I think that’s what ended up happening last year too, so it wouldn’t be the biggest problem.

Alright, there's ten

I’ll leave it open a little while longer to see if anyone else in interested, but we’ve definitely got enough for a league. I’ll set something up tonight and e-mail you all the info. I’m assuming you all still use the e-mails that you registered for the site with. If not, lemme know.

Getting buckets since 2003.

I think that's what we're going to end up doing

By the way, would you all rather have an autopick draft so we can have this set for opening night, or do you want to do a live draft?

A live draft would be fun, but I’m moving on Friday so if we do that, it’d have to be on Thursday or so for me.

I would love to do a live draft -

But I have a feeling I’m just not going to have time to do it so autopick I guess.

by ooba on Oct 27, 2008 5:02 PM EDT up reply actions

Live, but

I’d love to do a live draft – but I’ll take my chances with an auto-draft if it means starting by Opening night.

by Rook6980 on Oct 27, 2008 5:15 PM EDT up reply actions

I'd rather draft.....

But wouldn’t exactly mind auto pick.

I guess it depends on roster/league size as well.

Auto pick would seemingly be better if the rosters went large leading to a better pool of free agents.

i think live is always better

for anyone that can make it— just give a couple days notice… basketballs a long season, i dont think anyone really minds waiting until after a couple games are played…

OK

So I read through all the rules… but I still have questions.

I assume only the Starters stats are counted in head-to-head scoring? (Bench players don’t count)?

I assume that I need to play a PG, SG, SF, PF and a Center each game? (In other words, I can’t play 4 Point Guards, and a Center)…?

Do I have to draft a PG, SG, SF, PF and a Center for my bench? or can my bench players be ANY position? (For instance: Allen Iverson is listed as a PG AND SG…. could I draft him for my bench, and then draft 3 Bench Forwards and a Forward/Center? That way, both SG and PG are covered in case of injury by only one roster spot. . . or I could assume my Center will play all year, but load up on SG’s to take advantage hot streaks)?

by Rook6980 on Oct 28, 2008 4:31 PM EDT reply actions

Let's see if I can answer all these

Yes, only the starters count in this format and you can only start one player at each position, so you can’t trot out Dwight Howard, Shaq, and Yao or anything like that. But a lot of players do have multiple positions listed so you still have some flexibility. The other thing to remember is that even though the match-ups are on a week to week basis, you’re allowed to change your roster every day because the players only play 2-4 times a week, so you can swap in and out depending on who’s playing that day.

I’m probably going to tinker with the roster limits a bit because I think ten players is probably a little low for this kind of format, but the same principles apply. More than likely I’ll add a spot for an extra guard and forward (the guard and forward spots wouldn’t be position specific so for the guard spot you could play a PG or a SG and with the forward spot you could play a SF or PF), add on a couple of utility spots (where you can play any player) or I might do both. As always, feel free to add input on which direction to go.

by Jake Whitacre on Oct 28, 2008 4:57 PM EDT up reply actions

Excellent, Thanks

Answered all my questions….

I vote for more players… Perhaps not more starters, but a larger bench would provide more flexibility to allow changing starters on a nightly basis, based on which teams are playing that night. – Maximize your roster’s potential points, etc… Say, perhaps a maximum of 12 players…. (2 more than what you have now… the same as an NBA team’s Active Roster).

Say San Antonio and Phoenix are playing tonight- I could have Duncan playing PF and Nash as PG…. ………but the next night Toronto is playing Washington, I could bring Bosh off the bench and start him in Duncan’s spot, and bring in Arenas to start instead of Nash.

I may not make it-

not sure I’ll be home in time. So autodraft will do the trick and I’ll be pleasantly surprised when I get home.

Might have to go with autodraft too

Got a costume party to go to tonight, but I might be able to sneak off for the draft if there is a computer nearby. FYI I’m dressing up as Pesh with a mullet.
