Jamison is on the bubble for the All-Star Game, but he's not on the bubble for odd quotes about defense.
Eddie Jordan with some respect for Michael Redd.
Competition discussion: Milwaukee.

Starting lineups:
Bucks
PG: Maurice Williams
SG: Michael Redd
SF: Bobby Simmons
PF: Yi Jianlian
C: Andrew Bogut

Wizards
PG: Antonio Daniels
SG: DeShawn Stevenson
SF: Caron Butler
PF: Antawn Jamison
C: Brendan Haywood

Tonight's lines:
Wizards at Bucks: Wizards by 2.
Over/Under on Big 2 scoring: 43.9 points.

Mr. Pibb + Redd Vines = Crazy Delicious:  When these two faced off earlier this month, Michael Redd (along with some others) were injured and a 24 point drubbing ensued.  Since Redd returned the Bucks have gone 2-6, but before anyone jumps to conclusions, the Bucks losses have come to the Lakers, Suns, Jazz, Warriors, Hornets, Suns (again), and the Raptors.  The two wins against Atlanta (not a slouch by any means) and Indiana (where Redd went off for 37).  Considering that the Wizards are still 23rd in 3 point defense, they might want to put a little extra emphasis on sticking tight to him.

Either that, or bust out the old "Eye for an eye" trick: The Bucks have the worst 3 point % defense in the NBA at 38.5%.  Expect Roger and Nick to have big games tonight, unless DeShawn goes into flamethrower mode.

Beer sales plummet:  Antawn Jamison is back in Milwaukee, which means that no one is going to have to arrange for designated drivers tonight.

What would be like to talk with Steve Buckhantz? If we knew the answer, then we'd be as cool as the Brew Hoop guys who were able to get this interview with the Bucks play-by-play man.

While we're talking about Mr. Dagger:  It's the Wizards and the Bucks, so this has to be shown at some point:

This is an open thread, so whether you're a big dog or a puppy dog, there's a place for you here.

Wiz,under
The Big Dog photo is hilarious. Thanks for posting it. I hate that comment by Jamison. My fear is that when Gilbert comes back - they are going to rely on their offense to win games and not play with the same defensive intensity. Hopefully Eddie and Ayers can convince them otherwise.

Big Dog Rulz
Big Dog was unstoppable in college and probably one of the top players of the 1990s, if not one of the best Big 10 players ever. His elaborate NBA contract as the number one pick in the draft helped fuel the current salary nba draft scale.

Wizards, Over.

What? They don't have TV in the D-League? Don't watch me, watch TV.

Wiz, Over
The Big Dog has one of the best nicknames ever.

I just don't see anyone on the Bucks slowing us down tonight.

Wiz, over
I would like to see either Pech or Blatche spend some extended minutes guarding Yi. I think Blatche in particular will have quite a few opportunities to abuse the rookie. Further, its a big night for Brenda as he avoided one soft Euro center only to confronted with a slightly grittier, less talented Australian one.
It is ALWAYS Roger Mason Jr. time.

Also
Like the Grizz, this is another perimeter team. Besides Mo Williams, these guys are strictly jump shooters. If we can lock down, we shouldn't have any problems.
It is ALWAYS Roger Mason Jr. time.

No HD
I was almost ready to drop Fbombs because I thought this game was blacked out because of the Lakers/Cavs on ABC and the UVA/Gtech game was on comcast. All is well as I found the game on RSN. I have direct TV. However, it sucks not to have Buckhantz in HD though. GO Zards

Ugly
Anyone who says the offense flows better without Gilbert needs to watch a tape of this game. Caron at the foul line is our offense.
Also, Songaila for Haywood substitution leads to 7-0 Milwaukee run. Why that substitution at that time?

And then after that.........
Watch a tape of 4 guys standing around on offense while Gilbert dribbles, dribbles, dribbles and then pulls up for a jackup jumpshot with 3 guys guarding him, then everyone jogs back on defense and plays matador defense while looking extremely depressed because theyre not involved in the game(offense) at all.

Would you run for a guy that isnt even unselfish enough to let you have the free donuts? (I'll find a link to the story if you dont know what Im talking about...... the one about how Gilbert licks every single donut in the film room so no one can take one in case he wants more later on.)

Or they could just watch.........
The tape of the Portland game from last year where we lost 94-73. (The one where Gilbert said he was gonna drop 50 and then scored 9 points on 3-15 shooting....... the Wiz offense was smooth that night.)

Hopefully we learned our lesson
We're not the Celtics or Spurs, we cant just show up and play half-hearted basketball while expecting to win. That is what we did last night, we are on the Rockets/Raptors/Nuggets/Magic/Blazers/Cavs-level, not the Spurs/Suns/Pistons/Celtics level that we're good enough to do that........ we thought that because we were playing a bad team (Especialy without Redd) that we could just sleepwalk through and win the game, they are still an NBA team and we are NOT that good (Very few teams are) where we can do that. This has been happening recently and I first noticed it in the Cavs game where we weren't playing with the same sense of urgency, I think we got a little gassed.......

So in that sense Im glad we lost last nights game. If we had won the game we wouldve been getting away with it and maybe thought we could do it again where this becomes an ongoing issue that we could see in maybe a game against the Clippers or 76ers or whatever.......

so hopefully by us losing last night that teaches us our lesson and it never ever ever happens again, because getting beat down by guys like Awvee Story, Royal Ivey, Charlie Bell and Michael Ruffin due to a lack of effort and sense of entitlement (While having a chance to get 6 games over .500 before a very tough stretch of opponents in the next 10 games before the Allstar break) is VERY VERY VERY VERY tortorous to watch and dissapointing.... and because if we want to get where we're shooting for (4seed) we have got to play very hard every night and never let this happen again. Real recognize Real, but if you want to stay "Real" you've got to bring A+ effort every night, because we're real on the Blazer/Raptors level and not the Celtics/Suns level, we need to play with 100% effort every time, hopefully we learned our lesson.

(By the way Caron was the only one I saw play with passion last night for all 48 minutes, and the bench was the most dissapointing last night by far, you could tell they didnt show up from their first stint in the game where they got demolished while relinquishing our lead..... Deshawn and A.D. also had a lack of passion last night and were dissapointing... also Brendan's lack of effort especially on defense was concerning as he got lit up by Bogut nearly as bad as he got lit up by Big Z a week ago..... if we're gonna double we should either be all in or dont do it at all. So trap hard or dont double at all, because that half-hearted double team killed us in both ways.)

Very bad loss but hopefully we learn from our mistakes.
