Camby?

[editor's note, by Pradamaster]: This article is from the May 6 edition of the Inquirer, making it over a month and a half old. It still might be on the table, but it's by no means a new rumor.

THE BUZZ: Camby could help Wizards

We hear that the Wizards, who have had it with Brendan Haywood's inconsistency and moodiness, are eyeing Nuggets forward-center Marcus Camby. Makes sense, for Camby's gift of swattage (a league-leading 3.3 blocks per game) and defensive-player-of-the-year skills are just what the low-post-challenged Wizards desperately need. Also makes sense because Denver will be millions over the luxury-tax threshold next season with its current roster, and owner Stan Kroenke may not be willing to spend twice that in penalties next season for a team that couldn't get out of the first round. Coming off double microfracture knee surgery, Kenyon Martin is untradable, and while there might be suitors for someone like Reggie Evans, there will more for Camby - whom Wizards GM Ernie Grunfeld traded for in 1998 when he was running the Knicks. . . .

This represents the view of the user who wrote the FanPost, and not the entire Bullets Forever community. We're a place of many opinions, not just one.

Something to keep in mind
Denver would almost certainly want #16 as part of the deal since I'm pretty sure they don't have a first round draft pick for the next decade or so.  Not that I'm saying I wouldn't give it up for Camby, just throwing it out there for discussion's sake.
I'm a rookie, kick me!

Hop on
Not only would I give up the #16 pick, I would carry Haywood on my back all the way Denver to get this deal done. Happily throw in Hayes if it helps make the salaries work.

i agree
if we can get camby without giving up one of the big three, how can you not do that deal?  He is clearly an elite defensive player in the NBA and adding him to a group of the best offensive trio in the NBA would surely mean that the Wiz would be immediate contenders (at least in the (l)east)
