ENOUGH!
with giving the wide open 3s on defense! obviously we're never going to be a great defensive team, but defending against the 3 has been a problem for 3 years now. can someone please make an adjustment! did'nt we hire randy ayers for this?

Horrible Shooting
The wizards big three was 17 for 50, there is no way that will be the norm, also I think EJ handled the game fine in respects to Blatche in the second half,  even though Blatch probably should have been guarding Garnett in the second quarter, Haywood had been doing a decent enough of a job, and when EJ put Songalia in they were so far down by that point they needed to start scoring.  I think the loss came more from lack of bad play on Wizards part then more from pure domination of boston

Just shut up, gil
Honestly, it gets funny and cool the first time, but it gets too far too the point where it comes back to ** you up in the ass. That last quarter where the arenas chanted "Gilbert" is my exact point. Someone really needs to buy Gilbert an online monitor or something, holy *. Has he ever predicted something right? Besides that 54 point game against the Suns last season, he's pretty much showed up like a lil bitch when he set the stage himself. Well, put up or shut up, enough said.

I wonder if he actually knows that his big mouth affects us as well. Now we're gonna have to take the *** the Celtics fans gives us because of what Gilbert said... .

Whatever, home opener's tomorrow, I'm going, it's sold out, I'm ready to get crunk. I'm trying to make a sign, what should I write.

Gil and the jumpers
Gil is great for D. C. and funny... But to be a "true" Superstar, you need to have a "killer mode" inside you where when/if you talk sh!t you back it without a smile. I don't have the "Man Love" many has for Arenas because he is not as true "Superstar" and yet he has this franchise held hostage.  His shooting percentage is a joke (better shot selection)and the next time he plays defense will be his first time playing it. But he is what he is. Gil and Wizards looked foolish tonight.  Wizards looked like they have not been coached this pre-season or they are trying to get EJ fired.  Jump shot after jump shot, it was crazy!  And there is no need to talk about the crazy substitutions or lack there of.
This is not the way to start a season for a veteran team and it is obvious to everyone by now this team has no offensive presence down low.    Sad to say, this might be a long long season.

Uh-oh
Why do I get the feeling that Gilbert is going to come out tomorrow night and drop 70 on us?

70 shots or 70 points?
The team can't play this bad forever.  Something's gotta give.

not sure if i'm with eddie
part of me thinks eddie was right to leave the starters in and not surrender the game, both from a psychological standpoint (never quit) and because the starting unit looks like it needs some time on the court to work out some serious kinks. (which shouldn't happen considering this is the third season this squad has been together.)

the other part of me thinks he should have conceded the game and let the bench play for these reasons:
  - the starters would be fresher for tonight's game against orlando. (which is a more important win than at boston).
  - give the bench players some time on the court.
  - send a message to the starters that their performance against boston was unacceptable and won't cut it.

regardless, eddie should not be shortening the bench so dramatically at this time of year, unless he's got a very good reason. this is a serious problem. maybe he's sending a message that you don't get on the court until you earn it (which is a mixed signal by persistently throwing a lost nick young out there). or maybe he's sending a message to ernie saying he has no bench. or maybe he really is just that bad at managing a rotation.

something has got to give here. i respect his being a hardass, but he can't give the big three that many shots and minutes. he really might get himself fired.

short term, i hope the wiz bounce back tonight. long term, i hope they make profound adjustments as the season goes on.

on the bright side, i think boston looked REALLY good, and they might have come out and smoked just about every team in the league last night. the other good news is that orlando and miami both had bad losses last night. bad news is that atlanta beat dallas (yikes) and wade will be back soon.

Nice comment
Agree 100%.  It's tricky because it's a chicken and egg thing, especially when the bench plays as badly as it did tonight, but why go only 8 deep at this point in the season?
You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.

Good Comments
I especially agree with this LoneWiz54 comment:

Wizards looked like they have not been coached this pre-season or they are trying to get EJ fired.

Aren't professional basketball teams supposed to run plays and have a strategy for both offense and defense?  I have seen better preparation from guys playing pick-up at the YMCA.  Everybody just stands around on offense until someone chucks up a contested jumper.  And the defensive strategy seems to consist of double-teaming whoever has the ball and then forgetting to rotate back to the open man.

Not only have the Wizards not improved from last season, I think they have actually gotten worse.  Unless something dramatic happens, I think the Wizards are on course to lose 50 games this season.
